Everyone get's very excited about the fact that it's still raining here. The outside broadcasting teams are enjoying standing by the side of roads and showing us what rain looks like. Trying to arrange to go skiing the weekend after next, either colorado or canada.

Went to "Sea World" for the first time on the weekend, after living 5 mins away from it for 9 months (from where I could watch the nightly fireworks display from my balcony). Many of the attractions closed for re-development or because of high winds.

When the Eye-rack-eeze are liberated, they will be given the freedom to enjoy such TV programs as: "Man vs Beast". Sees the world record holder for eating hot-dogs pitted against a bear, and 50 midgets tethered to a jumbo jet competing against an elephant. Also this , where viewers vote for two people to get married. All things worth fighting for.

Crazy. Alert status = high (orange alert) over here. (a logo indicating the current alert status is shown at the bottom left of some TV channels). People are panic buying duct (gaffer) tape and plastic sheeting, allowing them to seal off a room in their house and protect themselves in case of a nuclear attack. FBI in New York are looking for 'recently-shaven' men. News channels are relentless; right-wing hosts chair debates between right-wing republican senators and right-wing democratic senators. They discuss liberating ‘Eye-rack’ and the possibility of sanctions against the ‘Saddam-loving’, ‘self-serving, ’‘ungrateful’ (remember D-day) French berating them for having the audacity to disagree with one aspect of American foreign policy. Occasionally they’ll wheel in a novelty guest called a ‘liberal’ that they’ll tease and sneer at, and never tire of reminding the views and the guest that they are wacky enough to bring a ‘crazy liberal’ into the studio.

Someone is testing me. First checking in at Bangkok airport where they wanted 200 pounds to upgrade to business class. I had to consider it for a while as I was facing the prospect of a 12 hour flight. I made the right decision as I lucked out with an entire row of economy class seats to myself. My next trial was arriving at Amsterdam at 6am and having the prospect of a 7 hour wait until the Cardiff flight I was booked on. They wanted $100 to put me on an earlier flight (8-30am). I'd justified this one to myself. Was told to go to the ticket office to arrange it. I did, and was barked at by the lady there as my luggage was already in transit and how dare the representative at the transfer desk tell me they could arrange the transfer of my luggage. She couldn't possibly do it for security reasons, but she'd phone up and check just in case. I'd lost my nerve by then and told her to leave it.
Not having access to my luggage means that I'm confined to the airport as I'm not dressed for this climate. Have wandered between many electronic shops in the airport trying to justify spending alot of money on this camcorder I want. I'm very tired and my ear is still full of water after swimming yesterday, so I'm only half in tune with reality.
